Honored, Humbled, and Grateful

When I first sat down to write The Widow Chose Red?, I had no plan for where it would go. I only knew that God had carried me through a season of loss and that He was asking me to share what I’d learned—to shine a little light for others walking that same dark road. I never imagined this book would find its way into so many hands, hearts, and now… onto award lists.

This year, The Widow Chose Red? was honored with three international recognitions:

🏆 The Global Book Award for Grief & Bereavement
🏆 The Literary Titan Gold Book Award for Inspiration
🏆 The Firebird Book Award – First Place in Christian Nonfiction

To say I’m humbled is an understatement. These acknowledgments aren’t about me—they’re about the message. They’re about what God can do when we say yes to healing, to honesty, and to helping others. Every page of The Widow Chose Red? was written with tear-stained pages and a prayer that it might bring comfort and courage to someone who feels like their story has ended.

I invite you to sample the first chapter of The Widow Chose Red? to see what everyone’s talking about.

Hearing from readers who say, “Your words gave me hope,” or “I didn’t think anyone understood until I read your book,” means more to me than any medal ever could. These awards simply affirm that pain, when surrendered to God, can become a powerful purpose.

I’m so honored that the story has been so warmly received and that it’s making a real difference in the lives of women who need a reminder that joy is still possible. My prayer is that every woman who turns these pages feels seen, strengthened, and stirred by the same Spirit who met me in the ashes.

So today, I accept these awards with deep gratitude—on behalf of every widow, every warrior, every woman finding her way back to life and love again.

From my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, and believing that beauty can rise from brokenness.

With love and grace,
Rachel
