He was Johnʼs little brother. He had style and a sense of humor that never stopped. He would have been 51 today!
While we didn’t know each other at school, we were both students at SMU at the same time. We met after graduation. He and I had so much in common – self-starter, entrepreneur, fashionista, foodie, and a love of Big D. When John and I met and later married, Ronald became one of my biggest fans. Not sure why, but we always had so much fun together. I think he was just happy that his brother had found a fun gal since John was a bit more serious.
One of my fondest memories was shopping with Ronald. He loved it. And when I said that I wanted a red suit… uh oh… He was on the case. Of course, he found the perfect one. I wore it for years and always felt great in it…because Ronald was all about classic, good, taste. It never went out of style.
It didn’t occur to me till now, that the red dress I wore at Johnʼs funeral, I also bought in Dallas. Ronald, a gifted real estate agent, helped John and I find our house in Chicago and again in Dallas. He could size up a house just by walking through the front door. After looking at over 40 houses in Dallas with John, I remember walking into the last one and Ronald and I looking at each other and saying… “This is it!”
I smile thinking of Ronald and all he did to make certain that house became our home. So today, I will enjoy a delicious meal, wear a stunning red outfit, and imagine those two talented brothers having a grand time in heaven!
